Parent Organization: Club Sports
The club started off the semester with a weekend of matches against Dartmouth, Boston University and Bryant University. This was a great opportunity for our team to practice how matches develop and gave a first glimps into what was to come the remainder of the year. The team also travelled to St. Lawrence where they played a highly ranked national team. The team also played Middlebury and Bard in a 2 day round robin right before nationals. UVM lost to Middlebury but took the victory over Bard 7-2.
Our most important event this last year was Nationals down at Harvard during the second week of February. We started off the weekend with 2 Victories over Bard and University of Southern California. The next day we went to barely lose against Washington University, but then took 3rd place in our division with a victory over Ithica College.
The club has done very well since its founding three years ago, and there are plans for future expansion and development for the club. Collectively, through funds from SGA, the athletic department, private donations, and squash fundraisers, the team has almost finished raising enough money to build two converted squash courts in UVM’s Patrick Gym. The hope is to have these courts finished by Spring 2012 so that the courts will be ready for the fall season 2012. With new courts, the team will be<
