Parent Organization: Outdoors/Adventure Organizations
Common Ground is an educational community centered around teaching students about organic agriculture and providing the opportunity for students to practice farming themselves. We manage the gardens around Jeffords Hall for teaching and demonstrations.
We have paired up the Campus Kitchens creating a Seed to Soup Alliance. The prupose of the parternship is to bridge the gap between sustainably growing food and feeding the public. All of the food grown at the Jeffords Garden is used by Campus Kitchens to create weekly meals served at the Chittenden County Food Shelf.
We hire two summer interns every year who are responsible for maintaining the garden throughout the summer and leading cooking and serving shifts for the food shelf.
Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or would like to get involved.
There are many opportunities to get your hands dirty practicing skills and learning about the newest innovations in organic agriculture.
We hope to see you out at the farm gettin' dirty!
